Our Story
Where Culture and Cuisine Unite
Filoxenia, Fili, the Greek word for hospitality, emphasizes the importance of friendship, food, and libations. Throughout the history of Greece, there is a long and storied tradition of hospitality. From the Illiad to the Odyssey, the concept of hospitality is an enduring one.
Emorfili, Fili, hailing from the close-knit village of Xirolimni, shares a kinship with the warm hospitality seen in ancient and modern Greek life. In her upbringing, cooking and sharing meals weren’t just rituals of recipes passed on from previous generations; they were a vibrant celebration of life and connection.
Estiatorio Fili understands the profound importance of dining with good friends. Just as the iconic Greek film “Zorba the Greek” embodied the spirit of conviviality and zest for life, we believe in creating an atmosphere where the presence of cherished companions enhances the dining experience. We invite you to gather your own cast of friends, make new ones, and savor our flavorful dishes. Enjoy the Hellenic inspired atmosphere—a genuine celebration of the cultural richness that emerges when friends unite around our table.

Enjoy it now, it will be booked solid soon.VerifiedJennifer2024-10-05Love Love Love Fili! Only bring a sweater bc our party was freezing from the a/c, and be warned, on a Friday night the music is very loud and it’s hard to hear each other if you are old as we are! But otherwise, we will return again and again.VerifiedChris2024-10-04Great food, everything was very tasty with really good service. One of the best Greek restaurants that have opened in Rhode Island. Definitely worth revisiting.VerifiedStefany2024-09-29This is THE hidden gem of Providence. Best food served meze style. Many vegetarian options and gracious service.VerifiedJan2024-09-28Loved it. Everything was fresh, clean flavors. And they filleted the branzini! Service was attentive and helpful with the menu. Although you could just order everything since it’s a small menu and small plates! Decor was contemporary. Felt like you were in on a greek island. Will definitely be back.VerifiedPeter2024-09-26This was our second visit. I ate the same things as they were so good the first time. For a starter (PIKILIA in Greek) I enjoyed the Tsatsiki. It was a small serving and that balanced with the courses to follow. For my Main I had a small plate Verenika - House made Pasta filled wth Feta, Browned butter, and strained yogurt. The crowning jewel of the meal was the desert: Ek Mek Kataifi - you can simply say Ek Mec. It was a nice, round cake with whipped cream (I think) top. There were some pistachios on the plate with a light sauce. There were walnuts (Shredded, I think) and a whole box of subtle taste added. The two women who are the customer facing team apparently take turns (on different days) acting as bartender / bar patron wait staff while the other one is the Table wait staff. They can ex[plain the foods, and match the wines to terms we might be more familiar with. Bothe times the owner was at the bar enjoying the food. I talked with him both times. One of the two kitchen staff (both have the same first name, which I forget - posibly Robert) came out and asked how we liked the food. It is a real winner.VerifiedArlene2024-09-26Totally a refreshing and intriguing experience that only one who knows the difference between going out to dinner Vs enjoying a totally relaxing intimate eating experience can feel the vibe. Food is graciously presented by a host of the establishment caring for your every indulgence. Menu speaks for itself truthfully and delicious. Every element of this restaurant is a devoted and represented by its inspiration. I will look forward to to my next encounter. Thank you !VerifiedEric2024-09-22The Greek food here was excellent. Every fish was packed with flavor. We had Chicken Souvlaki, Branzino, Spanakopita, Rice Pilaf, Roasted potatoes, Saganaki. Plates are small, so you order two or three per person and share. Best Greek food in Rhode Island!
